Score one more for TPC!
I thought I'd share another great experience with The Parts Connection:
I called Thursday to order a few parts; I mentioned to Rod that I was
planning to put them in this weekend, and he said he'd make sure they
went out that day. (I live in the SF Bay Area, so I get deliveries from
TPC in usually one day.)
On Friday morning, Rod called to say that they'd made a mistake, and
while the transmission mounts showed up on their computer, they had
actually been out of stock. They did have them now, though, and he said
they would ship the whole package out for Saturday delivery at their
cost. The package just arrived at my door, in plenty of time for weekend
projects.
Now that's the way to run a business! If there's anyone on this list who
actually hasn't ordered anything from TPC, I recommend you check them
out.

Re: My turbo has been replacedFrom: Chris Woodward <cwoodwar@bellsouth.net>Subject: My turbo has been replacedBelieve it or not, my friendly dealership replaced my turbo this weekunder warranty. Not a word was said about the TAP chip, so I'm not sureif they didn't know or just turned their heads. The diagnosis was adefective wastegate, which I have heard was a problem with the earlier1.8T's. I'm kind of sad to not be in the 1999 Passat V6 loaner anymore, though. That tiptronic/V6 combo was loads of fun.In addition, they replaced my driver door window regulator after Icomplained of an odd noise as the window went down. Hope that's thelast of that as I will soon be out of warranty (In Jan.)Date: Fri, 30 Oct 1998 23:06:00 -0400From: Chris Woodward <cwoodwar@bellsouth.net>Subject: My turbo has been replacedBelieve it or not, my friendly dealership replaced my turbo this weekunder warranty.
