I just wanted to thank everyone who has provided me with advice concerning my rack replacement and pump rebuild, particularly Mike Arman who not only provided detailed instructions regarding both, but also answered my many questions concerning the procedures involved.

When I joined the list earlier this summer, I never imagined that I'd be able to replace the rack myself, or even attempt to do so.  I know it's been said many times before, but I'm continually amazed at what a great resource this list is, not only providing advice, but encouragement as well.

I also read Wallace White's detailed procedure regarding rack replacement and don't have much to add except take your time.  I did the job over two days - pulled the rack out one day, put the new one in the next.   Like Wallace, it took me a little over twice as long to do the job as I'd heard from others on the list, but I was expecting that so it wasn't a problem.

Anyway, thanks again to everyone for all their help.
