The cable going from the alternator to the battery has a splice located in
the passenger's footwell. This splice is known for being unreliable. Charge
the battery then measure the voltage at the battery and at the positive
post in the engine compartment. These should differ by no more than approx.
0.1V. I bet this is your problem.
