Rich,
You just described the exact scenario of the pre-"replace oxy sensor"
condition. This same thing happened to my 100 when I first bought it.
Luckily, I was under the 5 year mark on the emissions warranty so it was
covered.

You could try pulling the codes to be sure though.

  1992 100s check emission light is coming on and staying on for a while.
  Goes
  off while driving. Car is running fine. Just had tune up including new
  plugs. The 02 sensor hasn't been changed. The car has just over 100K
