Euro harnesses(help urgently needed from listers)
Todd and I just got off the phone and found we have a major problem.
Please read this message all the way through.
The harnesses were all set to ship out the door this morning, but Todd
discovered a problem.
Todd built the harnesses off a different style Eurolight. My set is
completely enclosed in black plastic, with two sealed, clasp-closed portals
for access to the bulb sockets. All wiring is internal and comes out to a
four-spade connector on the back.
Todd built the harnesses based on a set that didn't have the internal
wiring and the outside black plastic, so his harnesses have connectors to
go directly to the bulbs.
So, you have some options.
a)ask todd for the harnesses as is, chop off the H4/H3/H1/whatever they are
connectors, and crimp spade connectors onto the wires and plug them into
the back of the lights.
b)ask for them as-is, chop off the connectors, and get the special
connector yourself
c)ask todd for a set with the 4-pin, special connector
Please consider these options carefully. Option C means Todd looses money
on your set, for the cost of the connectors, the cost of the special
connector, and labor, which all adds up fast.
Also, and here's where general listers can come in...if you have a set of
Eurolights that don't have the internal wiring, and you're looking for a
harness, please contact Todd; he'll be more than happy to sell these
harnesses to non-type-44 people, but you have to let him know!
I also need to know from people who are working with Chris and I...did you
get a set that's completely enclosed in black plastic and has the special
4-pin connector? We need to know if -anyone- got a set that doesn't have
this connector.
Last part...could listers who have Eurolights please let me know which
types of eurolights, for which cars, use what setups? A chart would help.
This would help Todd and I determine how many other cars could use these
harnesses he now has that are pretty much useless to the type44 group, the
intended audience.
Thanks for your help in getting us through this goof-up.
