air filter box

Hi everyone,
The other day I went to change the air filter on my coupe.  The Haynes
manual said to remove the cover of the box, take the old filter out, and
put the new on in.  Problem is, they forgot that the fuel injector is
attatched to the top of the air filter box!  How would one go about
getting to the air filter to change it?  


(On another note: I just repainted the faded black part of my bumpers,
and now it looks like they came fresh from the factory! One thought,
working in the garage on Halloween night is very cold. Need to buy
another roll of tape so I can do around the windows.)
