RE: 4kq radio installation

Yes. Plently. Any Euro DIN sized chassis will fit fine. FYI,
that means most units out there today will fit.

Sure just did this last weekend. You dont HAVE to remove any more
than the radio but I Highly Recommend you
	a) remove Gear Shift Knob, unscrew 4 screws holding on shift boot
and remove it.
	b) unscrew center console trim piece. This goes all around Center
console. Remove two screws securing it on sides by shifter (move seal
all the way back to access) and remove two screws up behind the Climate
Control. THe levers and knob pull right out and the Climate Control panel
pops out with careful use of a flat blade screwdriver at the base. YOu
have to remove illumination light and AC switch socket once its pulled out
a bit.
	c) Remove unit.

This will give you much better access to all the wires you want. Green
wires are front speakers. Purple are rears on some cars, on others RL is
Black and Red and RR is (DOnt remember) Brown is ground. Red is power.
AUdi is wired to turn on radio with Ignition OFF so if you dont want that
feature you need to wire the (switched Ignition wire) to a switched
source. I like to have mine turn on with Car OFf. BUT if you run extra
amps, etc, you could run battery dead if left on.
A neat trick I have seen is to wire that wore into the the key
switch wire that turns on the buzzer in car. When you insert key, you
have power. Take key out, stereo goes off. Kind of nice. Dont know
which wire it is.
OH< if you run a high power deck, you May want to run a
separate 12ga power lead directly to battery for it so it can get the
juice from other sourch other than crappy Audi wiring. Give it a good
ground too. ANd MAKE SURE to pout a fuse within 18" of battery to protect
everything.

Hope this helps. E-Mail me if you have any questions.
