Re: My cool car (little q stuff)

Being a (ahmm) wise 23, I have notice there are some things that regardless
of age work for some folks and don't for others. Examples: I will never
loose my love for a stero system that "thumps". I know "old" men in their
40's who feel the same way. Who? One guy is named Pat. He owns a import
car parts chain in Idaho and Washington. He happens to love and know Audis
well. He choose to drive VW's. Boy a neat herd he's got. Several of them
he has rocken music systems with subs in the trunk. I will also never loose
my love for funcitional big bore exhaust systems. Nothing like hearing the
roar of a V8 motor tachin out through twin 2.5 inch drain spouts. No stupid
tunnel tips for me though. True exhuast systems start at the headers and go
to the tips. They are not just a hollowed out muffler shell with a 5 inch
tip. The list goes on. You all get my point though. When I got my first
car (which I still have) I never did go through fads like neon or faux hood
scoops or even racing stripes. To me each one of the mods I choose serves a
functional purpose. The subs ad bass. The exhuast adds sound and top end
performance. Although I never have, I would selectively choose ground
effects based only on the knowledge that I would get added high speed
stability (My first car is a 1972 Mercedes 280 SEL 4.5, which is now under
COMPLETE restoration. My goal is to hit 155 MPH in the car [thus the
consideration for ground effects]. Not a bad goal for a car that claims the
top speed at 128 MPH. P.S. I have already hit 152 MPH).

Anyway, to those out there who enjoy modifying or altering their cars do
what comes naturally and enjoy.

Remember, don't whack your car so bad you hate it as your tastes mature.
(The pinnicle of my tastes is a sofisticated coupe like the Hammer or the
M3) Dream on........... Dream on Shayne.
