Re: V8 5spd FS

I'll try to end this thread amicably and with a little clarification. The
seller's "position" needs no defense, IMO. When I saw the "V8 5 spd FS"
posting (AZIZREGCC@aol.com), I recalled that early in the year (January),
the seller had contacted me concerning his interest in an S4 purchase. Soon
afterward, he was advertising his 150Kmile '91 V8 for sale. When his recent
posting for a '91 V8 5spd FS appeared, I thought it was the _same_ car he
had for sale many months ago. Since that seemed at odds with his statement
"I am considering selling my 91 V8 5spd...", I asked about that (previous
attempt to sell). My comment about his price was in the context of: if the
car had failed to sell before, it indicated he needed a "softer" price.

I now understand that his _previous_ car was a '91 V8 *automatic* (with the
same mileage!!). Hence, my comment on price was based on a misconception
about his previous V8 sale. Sorry for the (my) confusion.

P.S. Is an _asking_ price too firm, or just 'al dente'? Time will tell. If
my '91 200q hadn't materialized, I'd probably be going to look at his V8
right now.
