Only in the context that increased boost is a "bad thing".  Anything
that increases stresses shortens life - period.

It does seem, though, that the _profile_ of power development during
the ignition (power) stroke can be especially taxing with water
injection.  The technique has an impressive pedigree - use in military
aero engines, etc., continuing even today.  But there's always a
downside.
