Re: eibach springs for 4kq/cq/gt

Dan and all:

I bit the bullet for project snow 4kq and will use coil-over springs 8" 250
lbs front, and 10" 300lbs rear. The difference in price between the
H&R/Eibach/Intrax (sp?)/Apex and the coil-over is not that great. What is
killing me in cost is the additional 100% cost for the koni adjustable
shocks! At least for the 4kq, the shocks cost more than the coil-over kit!

Cheaper shocks can not handle the higher spring rates. So if you want to
do a coil over conversion a bit cheaper, you can run eibach like spring
rates with Boge turbo gas inserts. Then the cost is closer to $800 than
over $1200.

The first advantage to coil-overs in an infinite selection of springs,
spring rates, and heights. Because of this, it is very difficult to do a
direct comparison between the two.

HTH.
