Angela,
    Nice to have you on board.  In answer to your question, Yes, there
is an archive.  It is great for many maintenence items and if you spend
enough time you could probably answer almost any question you have
there.  BUT: the list is here for a reason and we are all happy to
answer questions.  If it is common maint then check the archives.  Go to

Then follow the link to the archives.
    For questions such as market value, etc though.  I highly recommend
you ask the list as a 4kq or 200 or 90 is not worth now what the same
car was one year ago.

        I'm relatively new to the list.  I'm in the market for a new car

and have been thinking about a quattro.  Does this list have an archive?
