The explaination from the owner of Zymol may or may not be the whole
story...could be marketing-speak. Not sure...don't really care since I am a
loyal Meguiar's user anyway.

Not exactly a good example. Robert Bosch has always owned Blaupunkt AFAIK. Did
back in the mid-80's when I ran their largest volume western US warranty
facility anyway, and had for some time before that. Blaupunkt had their own
asembly plants in Japan and later in other lower assembly cost Asian nations.
Some of their high end product was actualy quite good at one time, and rumor
has it still is. But, their reputation (here in the US anyway) is now so
tarnished by poor reliability in their low end units folks tend to overlook
them as a viable choice. What we get here may not be available in other
markets, but it is not a "rebadged" unit per say (though like many consumer
electronic items certain units may well be sold under other brand names much
like 10 disc CD changers being almost exclusivly Sony regarldess of brand name
on the front). HTH clarify.
