When I bought my car it had a very nice valve cover- the paint had been
taken off (presumably because it was flaking) revealing a nice finish. It
isn't galvanised, but it has been treated in some way so that it doesn't
rust. It has a slight yellowish tinge to the colour. Easy to clean, too.
