Christopher,
Just a thought: does the shifting into second problem ease if you pull upward on the
shift lever while pulling back into second? Is it only second that has the problem, and
shifting into first is ok? If first is iffy and pulling up on the lever while shifting
into second has good effect, could point to the shift lever ball and saddle (don't know
the official name) being worn - drops the linkage down too far.
