86CGT oil pump problems?

[sorry if this is a repost. I am having mailer problems and did't see it
in the digest version...]

I just finished the timing belt, water pump, and idler pulley job on my
1986 Coupt GT. I put everything together and it started up just fine,
however there is now a major oil leak.

The oil appears to be pooling/puddling at the top of the oil pump housing,
but I can't see where it is coming out. I can't figure out how this
happened--I was careful to gently tap the new idler pulley on, not to
"pull" it on with the center screw. Is it possible that I somehow damaged
the oil pump? The oil runs down and drips off of the pan at a rate of
about 1-2 drips per second. I am all out of ideas and although I dread
doing it, I plan to take everything all apart again and try to pull the
oil pump.

Is it possible that a missing/loose bolt could cause this? I checked all
of the bolts for the timing belt covers and they were all on. [I did have
a 10mm hex head bold, about 1/2" long--the same as what goes in the lower
timing belt cover left over from somewhere, but I can't figure out where]

Is there anything else that I could do? How much would this cost to fix?
Do I have anything to lose by pulling the oil pump (I am all out of
ideas).

Thanks alot,
