I-5 cylinder head tool
<<What the heck kind of tool do I need to remove the head bolts on an 87 5
cylinder? They sort of look like torx, but are larger than a T50 and
seem to have more points. Anyone know what it is and where to get an
inexpensive one?>>
All the parts stores have them, usually in the specialty tool section. As
Phil says, they're normally in blister packs from Cal-Van or some similar
trade name. They're not that expensive. Normally set up to work with 1/2"
drive. Generally there's one that fits the head bolts and the other fits the
inner cv joint bolts (these are the same size as air-cooled VW cv joint
bolts).
