Air Stuck pix.
Todd, and the list. My Mid Ohio picture (1989) clearly identifies the
car (in the caption) as a 200. I'm not sure of the HP in the caption,
but I think it says 540, 560, something like that. One of the details I
recall from the era is Audi's statement that these cars were production
cars pulled from the assembly line and modified into racecars. A long
time friend drove a Celica for Dan Gurney, and that 89 Celica was not
only NOT front wheel drive like the production car, but had a Hewland 6
speed transmission, a carbon fiber driveshaft, and the engine was
mounted longitudinally. I think they MIGHT have gotten the "Toyota"
decal from the Toyota parts department, but not much else. A fellow
lister from around here has some pictures from the Trans Am at Laguna
that year, maybe I can get him looking for them.
Well, guys, we're off to have a life, Sunday you know.
Get out and test the results of all that Saturday work! John
