If I remember correctly, when I replaced the tires on my former '88 16V
GTi, Pirelli and Yoko were the only manufacturers that made
decent/affordable tires in the 205/55-14 size.  I think the P600 and Yoko
509 came in both H and V ratings.  I'm not sure if either tire model is
still available, though.
