It sounds like you are describing a 10mm triplesquare socket. Audi uses
these on the CV joints. They have 12 points and are just larger than a T50.
I've never had a head off, so I can't say for sure.
You can buy these drivers in sets of three (8,10,12 mm) or singly in
some auto parts stores. You can also get them from SnapOn & Mac tools.
