1991 200t: no start ...
Hi!
A friend has a similar 200t to mine. He is in the process
of repairing it for a customer. To start with the ECU
wasn't operating. He now has sold his unit to the owner.
After setting up engine timing he managed to get the car
running. But a day later it wouldn't go. We swopped
batteries with my car and also tested the ECU in my car
to see if it had stopped functioning like the original
unit in the stuffed car. But the ECU starts my car. The
engine turns, start works, I am told there is a spark,
battery is fine, fuel pump works. That's what I've been
told and yet the car does not start up. The timing has
been checked and double checked.
When trying to start the starter motor does try and get
the engine going, but it just won't fire up.
Any ideas of what to check next and how to check for a
fault? Any sensors or specific wiring to check? Apparently
the original ECU died due to water. Seems burgundy coloured
Audi 200 cars in this country are the worst thing to have.
The white and blue Audi 200 cars are perfect! Aaargh!!
