Engine Rust Protection

I have spent a lot of time and money this summer bringing my UrQ back
from the dead. It's a Colorado car and therefore the engine compartment
looks rather new. I'm on the east coast now, what should I do to protect
the block, etc from salt corrosion this winter. My old coupe, a NH car,
had a block that was shedding large flakes of oxidized iron after its
life in the northeast. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.
