Listen to Aleksander. Most places won't even attempt to rebuild the diff.
It is a major pain. If you smoke the diff, new one is available from, you
got it, the dealer, at a price I can't even guess. If the diff is bad, get
a used one. They don't go bad with anything near the frequency that the
tranny does, so a used one is usually a good bet. Expect to pay $300 for a
diff.
