re: 90 seats question
Tom Nas <tnas@euronet.nl> discovered:
Also, the backrest of my [90q] driver's seat seems to be bent- i.e. the bit
nearest to the door is straighter than the bit nearest to the centre
console. (Does this explanation make sense?) It isn't too noticeable, I
only found it out when somebody told me, and I started measuring it. It
irritates me, though.
It appears to have been subjected to a rather large force. Is there an easy
way to straighten this? How hard is it to take the backrest off the seat?
Is the backrest construction strong enough for me to get in the back seat
and try to straighten it by pushing with my feet? (I'm laughing already
trying to picture this weird Audi repair technique) None of my manuals have
any info on this subject.

Yes the seat comes apart easily. Remove from car, disconnect back heater
wires from connector under bottom, push in plastic dowels in side trim,
remove trim, further disassembly of the two parts will be evident. You may
see a cause for the mismatch in the vicinity of the trim. Else, try your
podiatric technique.
