Engine Woes and A Question

	I was driving my newly purchased 87 4KSQ home last night and one
of the piston connector rods decided to take a look outside the engine
block. Luckily, I just put it on my Insurance before I picked it up and
got towing and labor. Fluid levels were fine, and I took it easy on the
drive home. I drove it 30 minutes and stopped by my parents on the way,
and then 15 more where it blew up. 

	Being new to this whole "project car" idea, what would cause it
to shrapnel? I found a piece of it on the road side, along with pieces
of the block. I guess it really will be a project car now....
