Blown 4kQ engine

Oh, that sure makes me feel good.  I am flying from Minnesota to Atlanta 
to pick up a 4000Q this weekend.  I am not looking for another project 
and I would not care to have it blow up before I reached the edge of the 
city.

What could cause this and would there be any warning that such 
destruction was about to take place?
