Re: rotor for 20v turbo engine



S,I have seen a few rotors that have cracked inside the area that fits
over the dist. post. About four in the last six months. Nice carbon
tracks to the dist. shaft. The car was dignosed as "needs a
transmission", replaced the rotor. "Good as new". If you have
driveability problems,do a sacrificial rotor change. It's impossible
to see the crack without removing/destroying the rotor. Also on the
Bosch
dist. caps,that have the black plastic "over-cover" on the caps, I have
found carbon tracks between this outside cover and the actual cap.
Dust/moisture gets between them and creates a perfect enviroment for
"tracking".
