For Audi oil filters, generally a few things need to be considered:
- presence of anti-drainback valve
- robust exernal construction to prevent collapsing
- good filtering media
- correct capacity and size/fit

Many generic filters that 'fit' our cars don't meet all these criteria,
therefore putting your engine at risk.  It is generally accepted that the
OE Audi filters meet this standard...........SLM
