Plus tire upgrade for 93-95 90's

Hi all, I have a 93 90CS Q with stock 195-65-15's. TireRack told me that
a +1 upgrade would be to go to 215-50-16, +2 is 215-45-17. However the
correct sizes to maintain outer diameter would seem to be 205-55-16
(stock A4), 225-50-16, or 225-45-17. Anyone know if the latter three
sizes would have clearance problems given the correct offset and wheel
width? Any recommendations appreciated.

Also, the 12 V6 seems to have really noisy tappets when cold, does
anyone else notice this?
