I have a similar set, Taiwan junk from the flea market, but they
must have screwed up at the factory and let some quality ones get
through, because I haven't been able to twist them nor strip them 
no matter how hard I try. :)  I wouldn't trade them for the top
of the line SnapOn.

Mercedes has a part number for the tool. The Mercedes version is
made of aluminum (maybe rough chrome steel) by Hazet.  It was only 
$5 or $6 US when I purchased one a few years ago.  I will see if
the part number is stamped on it, it's buried in the trunk somewhere.
