5000cs chugging, stalling, delayed restart

hello all! i have a quick question about my 86 5000 cs turbo, 192,000 miles.
i got it back from the mechanic a few weeks ago, and now i have another
problem. the car seems to be more prone to stalling when i take off from a
stop (it is a 5 speed). this seems to be due to a lowered amount of low end
torque. i rarely ever stall, and now it has happened a few times, to the
point where to be safe i rev the engine a little more than normal to take off
from a stop. if it does stall, it takes about 10 minutes of just sitting
there before it will start again. the engine turns over, but doesn't fire.
when traveling at speed it seems to run perfectly fine. another problem in
conjunction with this is that if i let the car slow down to rpms around 1500
through coasting while in gear, and then apply gas again the car will very
violently jerk forward. the only fix is to depress the clutch, let the revs
come back up, and then proceed. sometimes depressing the clutch is
accompianied by backfire. i've noticed that the breather hose from the point
of where the engine attaches to the transmission up towards the top of the
engine is completely shot, and i plan to replace this. could this be what is
causing this behavior? or is there something more at work her. in the
mornings, or after the car has been parked for any length of time, the car
starts fine. the inability to start is only observed after the car stalls.
thanks your superb help. please reply to me directly through email if
possible.
