Chatter/Lifters/5-30 oil

Jim,

If you have a diesel engine in there I wouldn't ignore it...;-)

Although my wife found yet another ingenious method for wreaking havoc on my
psyche. She's been driving the syncro (2.2l I-5 ala 4kcsq) and actually
checked the oil level the other day becasue it was "sounding loud". PTL!!!!

The lifters on the syncro will definitely let me know when she wants fresh
lubries. So, my lovely wife actually purchased a quart of oil from the
Chevron and threw it all in.

Out here in the frigid SF Bay, the oil of choice was 5-30 weight! Should
mix real well with that Syntec 5-50 stuff that takes up the other ~3+
quarts...

Here's the catch. The car has not run this well for a few years!? Lifter
noise is GONE. Idle is smooth. Sounds pretty darn good.

Go ahead and make you increased oil pressure comments...I can take it.
Anyhting else I may want to look out for? If not this will likely become
the oil change recipe of choice.
