Re: V6 Timing Belt
To: jmcelroy
Doesn't sound bad to me. I just had my (take a seat, this is long) head
gasket, valley pan gasket, timing belt (along with 1 tensioner and 1
roller), serpentine belt, water pump, and a synthetic oil change.
Cha-ching! $1580 (though the initial estimate was $1200 - $1300). So, $800
for that work at a dealership sounds fine to me.

Called Lakes Region VW/Audi for an appointment to have all belts,
tensioners, water pump, and associated seals replaced. I asked for an
estimate and was told it will cost $800. with labor. Does that sound
about right?
Thanks for any comments.
