Re: WGFV?

The computer bases fuel dispensing based on the actual airflow past the
airflow sensor.

The WGFV is one of the most common failures on the 200q20v; the valve is
practically infamous. They last about 60K and then just plain stop
working. Characteristic is great response up until 1.4bar where the car
sorta bottoms out; it feels like there "should be more there." The stock
wastegate can't limit boost to anything below 1.4bar when fully open.

As to hot-rodding, I wouldn't worry. The tire guys don't care about some
"cushy german car"; they're interested in mustangs and other obvious sports
cars. Plus, the milage is recorded by them before and after; they've
always asked -me- for the milage, taken a look, then done repairs etc.

If the milage is more than 1/10th of a mile, start asking questions. You
will get the manager's attention -VERY- quickly indeed if the milage is
different from what's on the sheet. The insurance/liability is tremendous
enough for the managers to pound it into the heads of the mechanics that
there is -no- "Ferris Bueler" screwing around with a customer owned car.
