How about some new Audi scale models?

Hi all,

I've posted about new Audi scale model releases regularly, and always get a
few replies. This gives me the idea that at least a handful of the
q-listers are interested in Audi scale models, too. Some, like myself, are
more than interested.

There are however not too many scale models of older Audis. What I myself
would particularly like is a decent die-cast 1:18 representation of the
UrQ- in either road or rally guise. A Sport Quattro would be really great,
but I'd be more than happy with a couple of 'regular' UrQs. Seeing the
recent upsurge in Audi interest with the introduction of the TT, there
would be more people interested in this model. The DetailCars models are
very hard to find here already, a couple of months after their introduction.
This vehicle would be interesting to the model manufacturers, too- with one
mould they could get a fair amount of 'mileage' by making several rally
versions, and even early or late road cars.

UT Models, the large-scale branch of Minichamps/ Paul's Model Art, German
in origin, have just introduced a great 1:18 A4 BTCC racer. Not cheap, but
superb. They had a 1:43 UrQ announced in their catalogue last year, but
when DetailCars introduced theirs, it disappeared without trace. A shame,
because the DetailCars model has an error or two, and Minichamps mostly
gets it right.
On their US web site (www.utmodels.com), they're asking US scale model
buyers to submit their favourite car which they'd like modelled.

Wouldn't it be nice if the entire US contingent of the quattro list paid
them a visit and left a four-ringed suggestion? ;-)
