Re: Audi-engined AMC: peripheral Audi content



According to a Porsche book that I have, the engine in question was a 2L 4
cyl. It was used in the Pacer and Spirit for sure (didn't say anything about
the Gremlin), the VW LT vans (must have been european only) and the original
Porsche 924. It was a VW designed engine, but built by Audi. Apparently not
the same design as the early VW watercooled 4's. It was over square, 86.5 X
84.4 bore X stroke. I don't think the VW engine could be bored that big.
Besides, it was designed to be canted over at 40 degrees, like the Audis...
