	fixed the sunroof - now it sits in the right place and
	is *quiet* at speed.

	also, yes, indeed, the k4 cutout is GONE.  wd40 and a 
	dremmel tool with a wirebrush wheel.  i may have mentioned
	that i did some work on this friday evening before we left 
	for santa cruz for the q-club brunch, and *it worked*.  what
	a great prooving ground for audi - fixing a "huge" mechanical
	problem by buffing metal contacts.  i can only imagine how 
	many thousands of dollars and unneeded parts have gone into
	trying to fix this problem over the years, by mechanics 
	without such a wonderful resource to draw upon such as
	yourselves.   cheerio.
