Paintless Dent removal

I am looking into getting a few dings and door dents (errant rock from
lawnmower) removed from my 93 100 CS QW.  Was wondering if anyone out there
has had experience with the dent gypsies.  Fellow who gave me an estimate
(~$75 per panel/special rate of $120 for two panels - passenger door and
right front fender) seem competent enough.  My main concern was that he
wanted to drill in through the side of the door to get access to the inside
of the door.
Second issue was whether there was a double plate behind the outer skin
close to the door handle assembly.  Dent is just below the bend in the door
(~3" down from the window).
