RE: Porsche pulls out of Le Mans

basically porsche have had their arse kicked by m-b (who hasn't?) and have
pulled out to try and do it right in 2000 with a new car (most likely a
sports prototype).

it is somewhat sobering to remind oneself that it has been over 2 years
since porsche actually won an fia gt1 race. that's a tough act to
follow....

will m-b continue with gt1 when no-one else is interested? no, they're
probably likely to go the s-p route as well...

I'm not quite sure what this means for the sport:

Motor racing-Porsche pull out of Le Mans

LONDON, Nov 29 (Reuters) - Porsche said on Sunday they were
withdrawing
works teams from international sportscar racing next year because of
	concerns about rules and costs.
