Don..
Here is a tip from Scott Mo's WebSite (
http://www.teleport.com/~scottmo/cooling.html#turboh )
which I think applies to your hose problem.
"There are two metal coolant pipes that are used to connect to the turbo.
These metal coolant pipes have rubber hoses on each end where they connect
to the engine cooling
system. One of these hoses connects with a banjo fitting to the cylinder
head coolant outlet. Check this hose for any leakage or failure. The OEM
rubber hose and fitting can be purchased, or you can remove the old rubber
hose and replace with some high pressure fuel line hose. The swedged on
clamp can be ground off or cut off using a hacksaw
and then a conventional hose clamp and hose can be installed. The same
can be said for the hose that connects the metal turbo coolant pipe to the
side of the engine block
to the freeze plug nipple. This pipe can be removed and the hose can be
replaced. The freeze plug (core plug) with the nipple on it, should be
checked for excessive corrosion and replaced if necessary."
Thanks Scott!
