RE: 4kCSQ differential question

Speaking of the differential... I can't get my rear to lock up.... I asked a
mechanic about it and he said I should never need it... (he doesn't know me
too well) My 4ksq is an 85'. Is the rear differential controlled by a
vacuum?

You will only need it when you REALY need it.

It is vacuum controlled. 1st check and see if it is truly not locking. Do
this by looking at the rear diff while a helper locks it. The actuator is
easily identified and should be easy to see if it is operating. It could be
that your light is out also.
