Blau! waterpump o-ring

I have a low mileage Blaufergnugen (Dolz) water pump off of my old turbo
and would like to reuse it. Anyway, I need a new oring for it and the Blau
price is something stupid like $5+shipping (shipping is based on price, so
it's not worth it). Anyway, I wanted to know if I could use any kind of
oring on it or if it is a special kind for high temps and pressures. What
is the size? 5mm? I would like to go out to the hardware store and buy it
for like a dollar, but I'm not sure if it's special for these
applications.
