My definition of torture...
The bad news is I've a broken front right spring on my quattro, the even worse
news is that I had to negotiate a <ouch>MULTI STOREY</ouch> car park this
morning. Don't try it, take my word, it is _the_ definition of torture.
Looks like it'll be H+R springs on the advice of two quattro garages in
the UK (Audi Only and Quattro Sport), I've still got to ask about Pi springs
from TSR (cheers for your mail a few months back Paul H) though, not sure about
the shocks yet. Springs from Audi are a (bad) joke, way too expensive. It is
just a pity that it is so hard to find springs that don't lower the car at all,
I have enough trouble as it is on my drive with normal height springs let alone
whatever the H+R's lower the car by.
Graham.
84 80 quattro
P.S. My friends 80 sport with the pressure in the valve cover is still off the
road but I do know that another friend (I have two mates with 80 sports and one
with an 80 quattro, two are brothers and I used to own one of the sports...
hard enough for me to keep up with it all!) with the same trouble (both occurred
at about 125k miles, watch out if you've got a similar car!) cured it with a new
valve cover. The incapacitated sport owner tried cleaning the breather
connection to the cover out with solvent but this didn't cure his troubles. I'll
keep you all informed...
