Coupe Decision.

Litmembers,

As some of you may remember, My 1987.5 Coupe was involved in an accident
last month. The structural damage is minimal, but several body panels
were dented and the grille and rt. headlight crunched. The insurance
company of the other driver has offered me $4500 for the car, $300 for
loss of use, and a salvage value of $500. So, if I keep the car I come
away with $4300 and if I walk away, $4800. Estimates of repair have been
about $6000. My questions are these:

Do I keep the car and pony up $1700 of my own clams to get the repair
done, yielding a structurally sound car that has a known history and not a
little sentimental value?

Or, do I take the $4800 into the market for a car thats history is not
intimately known to me, and get a newer, prob. quattrofied Audi,
relegating my Coupe to the junk heap?

Or, do I go back with a counter-offer to the insurance company, detailing
what it would have cost them had I opted to use a rental car rather than
my mother's car, and hope to get some additional clams to get the rig back
on the road?

Thanks again.
