RE: MH99: Update/Request for volunteers (long, but please read)

... my apologies ... I should have included that in my original post, so
I'll copy the qlist on this response ...

The events actually will begin on Thursday, 26 August 1999 and will probably
run through Monday, 30 August (perhaps even Tuesday if a driving event comes
together). Let me also provide a few of the things that are being tossed
about, and confirm that indeed the factory is involved with the effort ...
as if that would be a surprise ...

*	Several historical cars from Audi's museum in Ingolstadt are likely
to be present ...
*	Plans are in process to have a rather informal "mini concourse"
event in the corral where people can submit their personal cars for a
"people's choice" styled judging for several categories ...
*	There will be a parade lap around the track on Sunday ... the
winners of the concourse will definitely be on the track at this time ...
*	There will be a quattro banquet, with the possibility that factory
drivers will be present ... and possibly corporate officers as well ...
*	Audi is likely to make a major announcement that weekend. At MH98
the word was that it was going to be the unveiling of the new S6 for the
USA, but that has not been confirmed ...
*	There will also be things for the people who don't care to watch the
old cars racing again at Laguna Seca can do to entertain themselves ...

It is still pretty early, so I need to be a bit vague as the details haven't
all been ironed out. I personally would also like to see a NorCal Chapter
QCUSA-sponsored drive on the roads around Monterey ... with the Carmel
Valley Road loop being the obvious first suggestion ... put on that thinking
cap Scott! :-)

Hope that this helps to whet your appetite a bit! Remember that there are
likely to be additional little perqs for those who can lend a hand ... :-)
