My boost problem is fixed, sorta....
Hey all, i just did a very temporary repair on the hose that was
suspicious to everyone, and me. Well, since i work at a plumbing place,
i took a 3 inch diameter sheet metal tube, cut a couple inches out of it
to make the diameter smaller, and shoved it into the hose. Well, now i
have boost from 2500-6000+ like everyone else. Its pretty nice and
sstill surprising.
Here is where the sorta part comes in. Im not ever seeing 1.8 bar....
The highest i see now is 1.6, usually 1.5 or so... Is it possible that
now that the hose that i just "repaired" is a smaller diameter inside
(and since the tube was most definitely not flush with the hose), that
there is a nice restriction on the airflow that would limit the boost?
Either way, i have to get a better, and much stronger hose to go
there....so thats what im going to do..
I am taking it up to the bennett's on sunday, and we are going to go over
the car. I will ask him to get a hose before i go up there that will be
strong enough, and we will see then what the deal is. Does this sound
likely to anyone???
if not, any other suggestions? Keep in mind that before i did this
little fix, i did see 1.7-1.8 every once in a while, if briefly, but it
was still there....and lag is a bit more pronounced now....
later...
