88 5K Hydraulic Pump (Brakes and Steering)

I seem to be losing Pentosin. Recently replaced the "bomb." I do not
believe that I was losing fluid before the "bomb" was replaced. It is not
leaking at the "bomb." It is not leaking at any of the lines. I think
(but am not 100% sure) that it is not leaking at the steering rack. It is
not leaking at the top and at the 3 fittings on the pump. The underside of
the pump, though, is wet with Pentosin. The engine area underneath the
pump is wet also. It seems to leak more rapidly when I stress the
steering. That is, when I turn the wheel quickly (such as in parking),
especially if the front tires are low in air pressure. (Both front tires
have slow leaks. I usually keep them pumped up, but sometimes it will get
ahead of me.) If I turn the steering wheel rapidly at a stop or low speed,
I can "beat" the power assist sometimes. Anybody have any experience with
this? Is the pump on the way out? Did the old "bomb" mask weakness in the
pump?
