You don't need any special type hose for a bypass set up, any regular hose
(coolant hose) will do just fine, trust me I have one that is working for
two years without a hitch...........you can see the set up next week at the
Christmas party or during the week since I am probably going to stop at
Mike's.
The hyd. Hose you are referring to, is a pain in the ass to use, is very
rigid  and does not take well to the use of clamps (hose clamps). If you
need to replace your turbo coolant line, than, the hyd. hose is a good idea,
much more resistance to heat than the regular hose (rubber only type).

i just picked up 1 foot of heavy duty, 1-inch, wire reinforced hydraulic
hose used for heavy equipment hoses at my local NAPA dealer.
(to be used later for a bypass valve installation.)
it must have been worth it for his billing effort @ $9+/foot...
