Then what about the large collection of "2 way vacuum solenoids" that are
each paired up with a single vacuum actuator?

Heater core valve, temp flap, and defroster flap are actuated by motors
with a feedback resistor. This is true in almost every car made by Audi
and Porsche from 1985-ish on. My car makes similar noises. I'm not sure
if all 3 flaps are motor controlled in all the cars.
Plus, if the defroster/temp flap -isn't- in the 5k/200, it's fairly
probably that we can pop in the servos from the a6/100's.

Then why is there a resistor pack installed in the heater box, nearly
identical to the 5kCST and 200 resistor packs? If it is different, we can
swap it out. They appear to have the same footprint and heatsink; if they
don't, a swap/adjustment can be made.
