Re: Opinions on Paintless dent removal

Joe;

    When I purchased my '91 200q, the dealer backed a Mercyless Benz into it
and put a 2" ding in the left front fender. He had the dent removal guy come
and pull it out. They did a pretty good job - the paint was unbroken and you
have to look really close to see the very slight ripples left in the metal
surface. If you didn't know it was there, you'd never notice it.
    From what I understand, there are two approaches to this paintless dent
removal business. One uses long metal spoons which slide inside the panels
and tap the dents out from the inside. The other process uses some kind of
suction device from the outside of the panel. The suction device was used on
my car, but the dealer didn't get to see what was done - the dent guy chased
everyone out of the garage because he didn't want them to see the process.
